EXMAR launches French entity to operate ammonia dual-fuel carriers

Belgium-based shipowner EXMAR has set up a new French entity, EXMAR LPG France, which will own and operate six newbuild dual-fuel ammonia/LPG midsize gas carriers (MGC).The 46,000 cubic metre (cbm) vessels are currently being constructed at Hyundai Mipo dockyard in South Korea.The shipyard has laid the keel for the first of the six vessels in July this year, with delivery scheduled for the first quarter of 2025.Financing for the vessels was closed in October, EXMAR announced in its third quarter results on 8 November.
